Can you sand our office floor while staff are still working?
Yes. Offices are done zone-by-zone (reception after hours, the boardroom over a weekend), overnight, or across consecutive weekends so most staff keep working. We handle desk, cable and workstation moving or covering, and can help you brief staff with floorplan notices and an all-staff email.
Which low-VOC finish lets staff return quickly, and how soon?
A low-odour, low-VOC water-based finish means staff can safely return in around 8-24 hours (low-traffic areas 8-16h, regular use 12-24h) with no lingering solvent smell or headaches. A fast-curing overnight lacquer has reception and meeting rooms ready before staff and visitors arrive.
How do you protect our computers and server room from sanding dust?
We seal entry points and use containment, negative pressure, HEPA extraction and sticky mats to keep fine dust out of IT kit, server rooms and adjoining offices or a shared lift lobby. We're honest that 'dustless' is around 90-98%, not 100%, so IT equipment is covered as well as contained.
Can our coworking space's engineered oak boards be sanded?
Only if the real-wood wear layer is thick enough - usually that allows one or two light sands. We measure it first, because sanding through a thin veneer ruins the board. Where the wear layer is too thin, a screen-and-recoat is the safer option, and we can do it over a weekend so members aren't affected.
Do we need listed-building consent for our Grade II listed office floor?
Abrasive work to an original floor in a listed office can need consent, so it's worth liaising with the conservation officer early. We can provide the method statement and RAMS the building manager and consent process require.
How is a large office parquet or herringbone floor sanded?
Herringbone and parquet are sanded multi-directionally rather than with a single-direction drum, then finished with a commercial lacquer such as Bona Traffic HD. On a large office floor we phase the work around the working business so a section is handed back before the next is started.
